U6 Soccer Academy

The Bath U6 Soccer Academy is a joint partnership between Bath Township Parks and Rec Department an the Bath Soccer Club.  The Soccer Academy is a soccer program that does not have organized teams which emphasizes PLAYER DEVELOPMENT, TRAINING, and FUN!  The curriculum that we use is followed by all participants who train together in small units for half of the time that we are together which is then followed by a "scrimmage" for the remainder of the training session.  This style of Academy deemphsizes competition and emphasizes parent involvment and is the training style preferred by U.S. Soccer for this age group.

Academy Objectives/Goals

• Create a fun environment for both children and parents which allow kids to enjoy exercise through developing their soccer skills.
• Create an interest in soccer for both kids and parents.
• Begin the process of developing the skill of our players that will allow them toi start playing at a higher level.
• Identify potential coaches and begin the training process.

Academy Philosophy/Guiding Principles

• Fun at all times.
• Constant motion.
• Foot on the ball when at all possible.
• Coach on the fly.
• Focus on improving skills, not competition.
